Detroit, MI - On Thursday August 13, 2009 Larry Osentoski, President & CEO of Sterling Heights, Michigan based DRIVE Developments, Inc. presented “Connected Vehicles – Development, Testing and Evaluation” at this years IDGA Military Vehicle Exhibition and Conference. The conference is the largest stand-alone military vehicles exhibition in the United States. Osentoski was invited to represent DRIVE on the Connected Vehicle Proving Center panel.
The panel presented an overall view of the connected vehicle commercial and military space and how CVPC is working with industry and the Military to enhance connected vehicle technologies. CVPC maintains a wireless communications test track and facility for testing and evaluation of connected vehicle technologies. Osentoski’s presentation highlighted his background in connected vehicles along with the products and services of DRIVE Developments, Inc. Specifically, Osentoski focused on DRIVE Developments, Inc. Diagnostic Information Management Environment (DIME) technology and how it has impacted connected vehicle technologies.
“DRIVE Developments is pleased to be associated with industry leaders and we have identified a number of areas where we can work with CVPC to the benefit of the US Army” said Osentoski. Osentoski was referring to the recently completed Amphibious Robot Kit (ARK). DRIVE worked to outfit an amphibious vehicle with an electronic data bus, long range wireless communications and remote controls. DRIVE successfully delivered the vehicle system two months ahead of schedule and hopes to advance the project in the coming months. “The ARK is an example of a vehicle that was built from the outset as a connected vehicle and in many ways it represents the way of the future.” said Osentoski.
