January 3, 2012

HS-UK is pleased to announce that the DRS camera has been passed by the National Screening Committee as a recommended camera for use within the National Screening Programme for Diabetic Retinopathy.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) January 3, 2012 -- The fully-automated DRS retinal camera has recently undergone some major functionality enhancements and boasts a number of exciting new features, including a stereo mode with 3D viewer. The DRS now also offers automatic (or manual) acquisition of images of the posterior and anterior segment, providing alignment throughout the live image.

Automatic mosaic composition is supported and new measuring tools are available, including; area, vessel calliper and relation ‘cup-to-disc’. Automatic differential analysis is also provided.

The DRS’ compact ergonomic design features an integrated PC with a 160GB hard drive, enabling the storage of thousands of images directly onto the system or USB memory stick, and the ability to transmit to another PC or network via a Wi-Fi or Ethernet connection. New functionality allows the user to restore data from back-ups and transfer images securely to the web via a browser.

In addition, image quality has been improved and new printing formats are supported, including; the ability to print 2 or more images.

Dean Johnson, Managing Director, Haag-Streit UK, commented, “We are delighted that the DRS has been passed by the NSC. The product has proved very popular within the Optometry sector because of its single-button operation which enables the DRS to automatically capture and store a high-quality image in less than 30 seconds per eye. The new enhanced features, and the fact it is recommended for use in National Screening Programme for Diabetic Retinopathy, will make the product even more attractive to Optometrists, especially within the NHS”.
