DTCM’s Training Solutions Department organizes training program for advanced studies students at University of Virginia

In line with its academic cooperation initiatives, the Training Solutions Division at the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) has organized a “Dubai Info” training program for advanced studies students at Bambling College, University of Virginia, USA. The participating students were amazed to learn about the advances Dubai has achieved in such areas as infrastructure development, establishment of world-class hospitality amenities and creation of major tourist attractions.

Ibrahim Yaqoot, DTCM’s Executive Director, Corporate Support, said, “DTCM is always keen on creating channels and mechanisms for cooperation with specialized academic and educational institutions. This program was implemented to help students who are visiting Dubai make the best out of their field trip by offering them invaluable information that will support their research activities, particularly in the field of advanced specialized tourism studies.”

Yaqoot added, “Through the Training Solutions Division, DTCM exhausts all available resources to support the education process, as training and human development are the essence of the division’s mission.” He further stated that in order to realize its objectives, the Training Solutions Division has launched several other initiatives including memorandum of understanding and cooperation agreements with a host of international educational entities, aiming to exchange expertise and reinforce the process of qualifying human resources to work in the tourism sector.

Dr. Mahmood Khan, Professor of Tourism and Hospitality, Supervisor of the College’s Advanced Studies, who was the leader of the US delegation, conveyed his thanks and gratitude to the Department for the excellent training program, which he said will tremendously help in enriching the students' dissertations.

At the conclusion of the program, DTCM presented participants with souvenir items and had a commemorative photograph session.

The Training Solutions Division at DTCM aims to enhance the service levels in the tourism and hospitality sectors by providing various training programs approved by international organizations that specialize in professional training such as the American Institution for Hospitality and Hotels. Moreover, DTCM has also signed an exclusive agreement for the American Institution for Hospitality and Hotels to provide DTCM with various training programs covering all professions within the hospitality industry, including hotel management positions. The programs include short-term courses and diploma certifications.
