Dubai eGovernment Department celebrates 40th National Day at Ruler's Court

The celebrations had school students from Dubai International School performing songs and traditional dances

Dubai eGovernment Department celebrated the 40th UAE National Day at its headquarters in Ruler’s Court on 29th November, 2011 with all employees and directors actively participating.
The celebrations had school students from Dubai International School performing songs and traditional dances, in addition to a heritage quiz, video presentation, speeches and prizes being awarded.

The ceremony was inaugurated by Wissam Al Abbas Hussain Lootah, Assistant Director General, with a speech on behalf of the Director General, in which he affirmed that the UAE was reaping the fruits of its federation. He said: “The UAE has now become a leading business, tourism and education hub thanks to the great vision of our founders and early rulers, who in a short period of time have built a firm foundation for development and excellence at all levels.”

Lootah added: “We are pleased today to extend our greetings to President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum and their Highnesses, the Rulers of the Emirates on this occasion. We reiterate our commitment to support the UAE Vision 2021 and boost eTransformation by developing a knowledge-based integrated community that enables citizens, residents and visitors to benefit from a vast array of IT based government services as per the world’s highest quality standards.
The celebrations included school students from Dubai International School who read poetic Nabati tributes to our founding fathers, followed by the presentation of the loyalty book, a national poem, a national theatrical show and the traditional Yola dance. Mr. Lootah honoured the school teachers and students as well as the eGovernment employees who had organized the ceremony. Gifts were also distributed to the winners of the raffles and contests held on the sidelines of the ceremony.
