Dubai Legal Consultancy Wadi Consultancy : 33 suspected illegal immigrants arrested

(Free-Press-Release.com) August 2, 2009 -- Al Gharbia: A total 33 Asian allegedly illegal immigrants were arrested by police in Al
Gharbia (formerly the Western Region), where they were working at an
establishment in Giathi city.
Four others were held on suspicion of sheltering the illegal immigrants and giving
them jobs.
Colonel Hamad Saeed Bin Trais Al Dahiri, Director of the Western Region's Police
Department, said that some establishments and employers do not monitor their
enterprises closely, especially with issues related to the workforce, leaving this

matter to untrustworthy people, which is considered negligence on their part.
This neglect, added Al Dahiri, subjects these parties to legal liability.
Colonel Al Dahiri added that inspection teams will continue to carry out surprise
inspections to search for illegal immigrants. The law will be applied to all parties
without discrimination, he asserted.
He said the inspection raids are a part of the police department's extensive strategy
to combat and prevent crime, with the aim of establishing and maintaining peace
and stability.
Al Dahiri urged people not to shelter or assist illegal immigrants for any reason,

calling upon establishment, building, house and flat owners to be aware of the legal
status of the people working or residing in these premises, to avoid being fined and
to assist the police department in controlling this illegal situation.
