Dubai Refreshments Company Hosts Groundbreaking Ceremony for Its New Dhs500m Mega Factory at DIP

(Free-Press-Release.com) June 4, 2011 -- The new mega bottling plant is set to become one of the biggest in the MENA region, spanning over 140,000 sq. meters, with the capacity to produce over 120 million cases annually. The construction and start of its operation is expected to be completed in the third quarter of 2012.

Attending the ceremony was Mr. Ahmad Bin Eisa Al Serkal, Chairman of DRC and Mr. Saad Abdul-Latif, Chief Executive Officer of PepsiCo Asia, Middle East and Africa, as well board members, senior managers and invited guests of Dubai Refreshments company.

Mr. Ahmad Bin Eisa Al Serkal, DRC Chairman stated that “the investment in this milestone project illustrates our great confidence in the growth potential of the UAE economy. The construction of this new mega factory demonstrates our continued commitment to the development of the beverage market in the GCC and our intention to continue to be the leading player in the UAE and beyond.

Named appropriately Project Greenfield, the plant will adopt environmentally friendly initiatives to improve energy efficiency, water conservation, and reduce waste and pollution. The plant will embrace earth friendly processes, which will help protect the environment and improve employee productivity via elevating the Indoor Environmental quality”, Mr. Ahmad Bin Eisa Al Serkal, DRC Chairman added.

Besides integrating the latest technology in automated processing and production lines, DRC’s new factory at DIP will accommodate 10 production lines. The project will also host management and operational offices, staff and recreational facilities, distribution vehicles compound and storage complex.
