Dunn - Raleigh - Fayetteville North Carolina FREE Concert

Raleigh, North Carolina, United States of America (Free-Press-Release.com) May 4, 2011 -- The Boogie on Broad Concert Series presented by Dunn Area Tourism Authority continues on Broad Street in Downtown on Thursday, May 12. The event begins at 6:00 p.m. and continues to 9:00 p.m. and features a free concert by The Tams.

This legendary group has been entertaining and thrilling audiences for over 40 years with great hits such as What kind of Fool and Be Young, Be Foolish, Be Happy. These masterful musicians known for their rich harmonies include Charles Pope (Founder, original member and brother of the late Joe Pope), Little Redd Cottle, Joe Jones, Robert Arnold and Reginald Preston. They have had four #1 songs at the national and international levels, plus several regional hits. Time to reminisce with some great Carolina Beach Music, doing The Shag and remembering special times at Williams Lake by joining us as The Tams entertain us at the next Boogie.

The event includes concessions by the Dunn Police Athletic League. There will be plenty of fun for the children such as bubbles, sidewalk chalk, tattoos and Lucas Gallman will be giving out balloon art for all ages. Butch Halpin of Carolina Sounds will be DJ for the events this year which will add more energy, some great line dancing and even more fun for the evening.
The Concert will be held on Broad Street between Wilson and Clinton Avenues in Downtown Dunn.

In addition to The Dunn Area Tourism Authority, these concerts are being funded through the sponsorship of several chamber members. “We are excited about this family event and hope everyone will come out to join us for the great music, fun and fellowship”, says Sylvia Jackson, Chairman of the Concert Series. This is the second concert in the 2011 Concert Series which will conclude with the Band of Oz on October 13.
This event is open to the public and everyone is encouraged to bring their lawn chairs. In case of rain, the Concert will be held in the Dunn Shrine Center located at 211 N Clinton Avenue in Dunn.
