Newark, New Jersey, United States of America (Free-Press-Release.com) September 9, 2010 --Moisture vapor emission in concrete substrates has become a monumental problem. Millions, if not billions, of dollars are spent every year to replace, repair and correct floor covering problems related to excessive moisture and elevated pH levels of concrete floor slabs.

What is Moisture Vapor Emission?
Water is added to hyrdrate cement in concrete to form a solid mass of concrete. There is a critical volume of water needed to hydrate the concrete and an excess volume of water is used to mkae the concrete workable. Moisture vapor emission is the movement of moisture that is not part of the concrete mix. It could be from ground water, plumbing, or landscaping runoff, etc. This moisture is a concern when the concrete slab has no vapor retrder installed or the vapor retarder has been punctured.

Duraamen Engineered Products recently launched Perdure MVT+, a moisture vapor control system which allows installation of resinous or concrete flooring systems and any other moisture sensitive floor coverings on new concrete (5 days old) without fear of moisture entrapment. Perdure MVT+ reduces the passage of water vapor and mosture through slabs on above or below grade, thus eliminating delamination and blistering of adhesives, floor coverings, resin floor systems, epoxy terrazzo and coatings. It controls water vapor tarnsmission levels for the the installation of most floor covering systems, including VCT, sheet vinyl, carpets, wood, laminates, epoxy flooring, decorative quartz flooring, metallic epoxy flooring, stained concrete flooring, MMA flooring and other types of resnious flooring systems.
