Toronto, Canada - GAO Instruments (www.GAOInstruments.com) has released its handheld datacom analyzer, a durable tool suitable for on-the-spot measurements. The cost-effective and practical analyzer is an ideal tool for R&D, production, equipment installation, acceptance testing, daily maintenance and service verification. It is used to verify the quality-of-service of datacom transmission channels in access networks, transmission networks, digital data networks and private communication networks.

This datacom analyzer, model A0300009, offers V.24, V.35, V.36, X.21, RS-449, RS-485, EIA-530 and EIA-530A interfaces and can be configured to DTE or DCE and ASYNC or SYNC mode. It monitors and controls handshaking signals and supports measurements of error blocks and clock slips. In SYNC mode, the Rx and Tx clock sources are either internal or external and triggered with rising or falling edge detection. The advanced analyzer has a large memory capacity and stores up to four groups of test results; the test results can be uploaded to a PC via a serial port.Test Manager™ software is included to support further analysis, assembling, filing, and reporting of test results. The embedded software can be upgraded via the serial port.
