Dustin Mitchell Announces SEC Subpoena for Pre-Paid Legal Services
Dustin Mitchell announced as a part of an ongoing inquiry by the Division of Enforcement of the SEC, Pre-Paid Legal Services received an additional subpoena from the SEC on April 13, 2010
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) April 17, 2010 --
The subpoena requests the company to provide documents relating to certain membership information, member complaints about provider law firms, the company efforts to achieve compliance with all payment card industry requirements, the resignation of Harland Stonecipher as Chief Executive Officer and President and the resignation of Tom Smith as a director.
The SEC subpoena is an additional thorn in the side of Pre-Paid Legal Services who is also under investigation by the FTC concerning the Identity Theft Shield the company markets.
There is a current movement of former Pre-Paid Legal Services customers to file a class action lawsuit against the company. More information is available at http://www.prepaidlegallawsuit.info.
These events followed by the recent resignation of company founder and CEO , Harland Stonechiper, sent the company stock plummeting down nearly 15% in one day. Not even six months ago the company was trading at $43.55 a share and the stock bottomed out at $33.27 in November. The fluctuation and apparent fiscal instability has left investors nervous and its army of independent marketing associates struggling to maintain their income.
