e-DATA Introduces TWIC/PIV Physical Access Control System (PACS)

(Free-Press-Release.com) March 23, 2011 -- COPPELL, Texas – e-DATA introduces its browser-based, embedded Physical Access Control System (PACS) specialized for government, ports, airports and border applications. e-DATA readers feature an integrated fingerprint biometrics module that is HSPD-12, FIPS 201 and TWIC/PIV compliant. Supporting both smart cards and biometrics, e-DATA systems are open architecture, scalable and allow for third-party integration.

e-DATA eliminates the headache of forcing legacy access control into an IP world with Web-based, embedded access control. With .NET support, e-DATA allows an agency of any size to manage access control over multiple buildings and sites -- as well as third-party integration for video, ID and visitor management -- through one secure Web user interface. Plus, the system expands as your needs do (from standalone to enterprise), and it features electronic event audits and detailed reporting.

With biometrics, the e-DATA Fingerprint Key reader is ruggedized and NEMA 4 IP65-rated for outdoor use in extreme environments. The Fingerprint Key meets HSPD-12 in response to FIPS 201 requirements and includes an optical sensor that's approved for federal installations (TWIC/PIV compliant). The tamper-resistant reader also comes standard with a PIN pad and an optional integrated iCLASS/Mifare/DESFire reader for a three-factor authentication device. The reader, compact in its single-gang size, also functions as an intrusion system interface at the door. It’s available in standard black, silver and white.
