E2G2 Signs Pilot Program Agreement with Indio
Innovative plan will provide automated business license sign-up and renewal; generate new revenue stream for City coffers
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) January 27, 2012 --
Pasadena, California—Continuing its ongoing successful efforts in building its Neighborhood Network Program, Southern California-based E2G2.com has announced the signing of a new pilot agreement with the City of Indio to utilize its business license software and search engine, which brings together cities, businesses and consumers. The agreement adds the desert city to the ever-growing list of cities now joining the E2G2 Neighborhood Network.
The E2G2 software automates the city’s business licensing and renewal process, and then compiles the gathered information into a business directory that is linked to the City of Indio’s own website. Local businesses can then utilize their local listing to advertise and reach more residents and consumers. The software also features a customer loyalty and mobile app.
The Indio City Council voted 4-0 with one abstention, to partner with E2G2, based on a recommendation from City Manager Daniel Martinez as well as the city attorney and finance department.
The city manager’s report cited the following features of the new service in their recommendation:
• Enhanced customer service by providing an Internet business renewal system with 24/7 accessibility via the web.
• Provides for a business license directory that will offer businesses the option to advertise and market their businesses by using Internet-based technology.
• Provides a bilingual English Spanish online licensed business directory for local area businesses and customers to access.
• Provides for increased efficiency for business licensing processing by only allowing licensed businesses to participate in the program.
• Provides for Internet accessibility by code enforcement officers while in the field to assist with business license compliance issues.
• No cost to the city other than internal staff time during the rollout.
• No annual maintenance fee to continue the service if deemed successful.
• Product customization based on the needs of the city with no additional cost
“We’re excited about the possibilities of working with such a dynamic city as Indio,” said E2G2 Municipal Liaison and former Palm Springs Mayor Ron Oden, who helped forge the agreement. “Its festivals and the world wide attention that they bring to the City make it a perfect fit for our vibrant new technology.”
“This pilot program will greatly benefit our local businesses, especially with the large number of tourists Indio city draws each year. At the same time, it will assist in making city services more efficient while providing a user friendly way for people to learn about Indio businesses and attractions,” added City Manager Martinez.
The new agreement brings to four the total number of active Southern California cities in the E2G2 Neighborhood Network, including Banning, Hawaiian Gardens and Baldwin Park. The company is also on target to sign more than a dozen cities in California in 2012.
E2G2 is a business licensing software and search engine that allows consumers to quickly and easily locate any business, in any given city, either by name, by type of business, as well operating hours. E2G2 is also available as a free app for iPhones and Android smart phones. E2G2 currently holds a number of patents pending. The company is based in Pasadena, California.
