The Hillsborough County Commissioners started the New Year off by honoring some outstanding individuals with Commendations.

EA Sports Announcer Honored in Hillsborough County

(Tampa, FL) - The Hillsborough County Commissioners started the New Year off by honoring some outstanding individuals with Commendations.

This past week they honored Pro Wrestling Ring Announcer and EA Sports MMA Video Game Announcer Shannon Rose with a Commendation for Service to the Community.

Rose was honored with the Commendation for his ability to fight EDS (Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome), and his commitment to educate the community about EDS and support those who suffer from it.

"It's exciting to provide Commendations to citizens who on a daily basis serve our community, speak to the public, and some of them even have issues they keep quiet that we don't even know they have, like Shannon suffering with EDS" says Commissioner Mark Sharpe (at the ceremony) who presented Rose with the Commendation.

"It's an honor to receive this Commendation and be recognized by our city's leaders, a recognition I am humbled to have received" says Rose and adds "I only hope that my message has touched and changed lives, and that I have effectively spread the word of EDS throughout the community."

Rose will continue to spread that message to anyone that he can. He knows all too well that EDS is often misdiagnosed. The key to living a full and happy live with the condition is to receive proper and consistent treatment; Rose hopes he can open people's eyes to the signs so they receive the proper tests to ensure they don't suffer from EDS.
