Eastern Cape to benefit from major Food and Wine event

(Free-Press-Release.com) January 22, 2012 -- With over 300 exhibitors and around 35,000 visitors expected the festival promises to outstrip the success of its predecessors with a programme that includes food, wine, whisky and cheese tasting and pairing hosted by South African celebrity food personalities. Audiences will be dazzled by well-known and local performance artists in the hospitality tent where hot and cold beverages will be served.

The four day event that will take place on the DF Malherbe school grounds will commence on the 29th March and conclude on Sunday the 1st of April 2012.

For the first time Port Elizabeth will be host to one of the biggest celebrations of Food and Wine that the Eastern Cape has ever seen. The event will bring together food retailers, cheese producers and wine farms with some of South Africa’s most prolific brands already on board.

The Nelson Mandela Bay Tourism Board has backed the festival in full and has partnered with the festival committee on the roll out of event marketing across the City and the wider metropolitan catchment area.

The festival was designed with families in mind and provides the perfect combination of activities for young and old. A kid Zone soft play area, quad biking and go carts will also be available on the festival grounds.

The event is set to become an annual favourite on the Port Elizabeth events calendar.
