We asked Excentree Co-founder and model Mary McAloon what she hoped for in the world of eco fashion in 2010.
“2010 is a special year for all green industries. Be that in eco fashion, eco energy, eco tourism or eco politics. But eco fashion is a sector that every person can be involved in. On the back of the January 31st deadline, which saw 55 countries make their Carbon curbing pledges, we hope that eco fashion designers across the globe can continue to come up with new and innovative means through which to have a positive impact on our planet, while maintaining and pushing the boundaries of style and retaining the highest possible quality.”
Excentree appears to have a commanding presence in what they wish to achieve and how they wish to do so. Providing sometimes quizzical and comical advice on their website about the possible things people can do to affect their carbon footprint only adds to their lovable rogue appeal.
Another branch of Excentree is James McAloon, we asked him about the coming months and what impact Excentree hoped to make,
“We will be expanding our range with our Spring/Summer collection which is to include polo shirts, shirts, ties and an extended range of organic cotton tees. We hope to follow the lead of some of the best eco fashion designers on the planet, creating garments for every day eco styling, while increasing our commitment to innovation when it comes to unique and intriguing means through which to increase sustainability and reduce the world’s product waste. It might not be too long before we are producing garments from waste plastic or accessories from tyre inners. We hope to expo across as many different cities in the UK in the Summer months, both in conventional and some unconventional means, so watch out, we will make sure you keep smiling.”
With such energy, enthusiasm and eco appeal it is highly likely that Excentree will find its way into the limelight sooner rather than later. Hopefully it won’t be too long before Excentree is branching out onto a high street near you.
