The road to writing success for any author can be a difficult and arduous journey, even more so if the author is new to the world of publishing and has yet to see their work in print. Many times, the author doesn't know the nuances of the industry, who to work with, or what is a good or not so good situation, when faced with print options. This was the situation that author Bill Greenwell, of Poquoson, Virginia was faced with when he was trying to figure out to get his WWII memoir, "Feather Merchant," published. Furthermore, this is where EDGE Publishing Company came in.
"I had been told I had a great story, one that needed to be told, but I didn't know what to do with it. All I know is that I wanted a shot at getting this published, and that's where EDGE came in," stated Greenwell.
EDGE Publishing Company, through the direction of President, Phillip Vera, specializes in working with first-time authors who are looking for a way to cut through the bureaucratic red-tape and "hoop jumping" of the publishing industry. "When I first read Bill's story, I realized it was unique and I wanted to be a part of it because this book deserves to be in print. Furthermore, I also realized that I could be of great service to someone like Bill who is unfamiliar with the publishing process. I knew that I could get a great product out there through the strategic partnerships I have formed with other companies based upon the common goal of getting the work of first-time authors in print," stated Vera.
One of the partnerships Vera has formed is with Amanda Clark, President of Charlotte, North Carolina-based, Grammar Chic, Inc. Clark considers herself a "Literary Consultant" and works with EDGE Publishing Company on editing, content development, manuscript formatting, as well as other services in an advisory capacity to the company and its clients. Clark worked with Vera throughout the editing and formatting process on "Feather Merchant," making sure the final copy of the manuscript that went to print was the best final product possible.
"Feather Merchant" is the personal story of Bill Greenwell, who served as a B-17 bomber pilot during World War II for the United States and who was responsible for the daylight bombing of wartime Germany during one of the most tumultuous times in world history.
"I really believe that any reader who enjoys history or who is appreciative of the efforts of the men and women who fought in World War II is going to enjoy reading 'Feather Merchant' and I am so happy that the story of Bill Greenwell is now in print," stated Vera. "I hope that EDGE Publishing Company is able to help open doors for other authors who might not know where to turn."
There are a limited number of copies of "Feather Merchant" signed by the author available through the EDGE Publishing Company website at www.edgeofficesolutions.com.
