Edoc Selected as Finalist for Employer of the Year

(Free-Press-Release.com) May 2, 2011 -- Victoria, BC – The Victoria Advanced Technology Council (VIATeC) selected Edoc Systems Group Ltd. as a finalist for Employer of the Year. The Employer of the Year winner will be chosen on June 2, 2011 at VIATeC’s annual technology awards show, dubbed the 2011 Techie Awards.

“This is a tremendous honor,” said Bill Reid, President of Edoc. “One of our stated corporate goals is to be selected as Employer of the Year. So we couldn’t be happier. It means we’re on the right path as a company.”

Reid believes that Edoc was selected as a finalist because of its efforts over the past two years to discover its corporate values, then to emphasize them in its business practices. “The whole company worked together to flesh out our values. Now they govern almost everything we do,” claimed Reid. Over that two-year period of time Edoc added 50% more staff and grew revenues over 100%. Edoc states its values are: Fun, Teamwork, Resourcefulness, Humility, Respectful and Committed.

Asked whether or not it was important to the company to win the award outright, Reid acknowledged that there was PR value in winning, but said “Being nominated is awesome, and I know this sounds cheesy, but the real reward for us is getting to work at Edoc.”
