This theme is occurring across all income levels and nationalities throughout the U.S. More and more perfectly qualified, college bound students are finding themselves having to drop-out of school or not able to attend school altogether. Why are we ranked #1 in the world in College enrollment, but dropped to #9 in the number of individuals graduating a four year College or University. Who's to blame? Look at the economy, double digit unemployment rate, home foreclosures, reduced property value and increased tuition which is now 3 times higher than just 10 years ago. Many students rely on their parents support to go to College. Parents are now uncertain about job stability and their financial future including retirement. Some are now afraid, and for the first time ever, are unwilling to sign for student loans and take on the additional debt. When will this end you ask? No one really knows, but one thing's for sure, in order for our kids to be successful and prosperous they need to graduate with a minimum of a four year degree. In order to compete globally, as a Nation, we need to improve our graduation rate from 9th back to 1st place.

Versie L. Walker , the Author & Publisher of the book SUCCESS, HOW I ENDED UP HERE and creator of The Million Dollar Mind Series, and local school board member. He knows firsthand the importance of a high quality education and how devastating it can be to want something so badly and not have the financial wherewithal to stay the course.

Versie is originally from Chicago, and now lives in New York. He wants to help! One of Chicago's Very Own, Is Coming Back To Give Back during the Thanksgiving Holiday.

Mr. Walker will be hosting a book signing and fundraising event on the South side of Chicago, Wednesday, November 24th. This event will be held at LET'S GET POPPIN Gourmet Popcorn Shop and Bakery (located at 11758 South Western Ave., Chicago, IL.), from 2 - 7p.m. A portion of the proceeds from the book signing will be donated to a Non-Profit organization which supports the Educational Advancement of our youth.

In addition to the book signing and fundraiser, his dear friends at LET'S GET POPPIN , Ms. Bobbie and Mr. Marsh will raffle off: Two Betty Boop Leather Jackets, Six 2 gallon tins of their world famous popcorn. Versie Walker will raffle off 3 of his 30 minutes One-on-One Coaching sessions (a $75 value).
