EFaru SAP Business One Atlanta Implementation in Multinational Business Environment

Plus it has successful localization add-ons in Brazil covering relatively new requirement known as SPED. Let’s review several case studies where multinational corporations deployed SAP B1:

1. Beverage production and distribution in Brazil and Spanish speaking Americas. This company has its headquarters and central production and distribution facility in Chicago, Illinois. Artificial juice production is implemented in Bill of Material business logic. Central production in Brazil is located in Amazonia area. This was one of the pioneering SAP BO implementations in Brazil. In Chicagoland company initially had different accounting software. Export from SAP BO was done via SQL scripts into text file on General Ledger entries level. Transactions were shipped regularly via ftp to central server and then integrated with the image of Amazonian company for FRx financial reporting and internal audit. In few years company made a decision to expand SAP B1 and implement it in central office as well

2. Auto parts testing and certification subcontractor from Detroit area. This company had plans to implement it for Brazilian location in Campinas state Sao Paulo with future perspective to implement it for similar facility in China. Also they decided to start with clear list in Dearborn headquarters. CPA in Campinas was impressed with presentation and how SPED requirements are covered. Licenses were acquired in the United States and server was placed in Dearborn opening client interface via Citrix to users in Campinas. Now let’s review SPED in brief. The idea is to make all corporate sales and purchases as well as GL records public for communities of CPA, lawyers and other involved professionals. AR and AP are reported electronically over the internet and GL side on annual base. SPED add-on license cost is high and it is comparable to several professional named user licenses

3. Mining company in Canada acquired precious metal mining place in Siberia, Russian Federation. Business One has interface in Russian language. In Russia financial reporting is quarterly with requirement to print Balance sheet and P&L in government approved format. Second challenge is standard chart of accounts and instruction to do GL entries for each operation. Account 20 is dedicated to main production for example. Business One is covering operations in Canada and Siberia. However in Russia it is coupled with 1S Accounting (local package) to produce reporting statements for Russian tax agency. Currently SAP office in Moscow is working to cover the gap with required forms handling and other features of Russian accounting with expected results toward the end of the year 2012

4. POS and Barcoding devises distributor with headquarters in South Carolina and wholesale market in South America. Due to the fact that majority of scanners are sold in Sao Paulo and across Brazil the server was placed in Sao Paulo office. Citrix was chosen for user interface transmission. Interesting fact is the number of users is more than fifty. Currently in 2012 SAP office in Sao Paulo recommends Business One for accounting offices where total number of users is up to two hundred
