FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
St. Joseph, Michigan, United States of America (Free-Press-Release.com) February 20, 2012 --

Here in the United States we see active expansion around year 2005 with version 2005A. Next one was 2007A and currently supported ones are 8.8, 8.81 and 8.82. Business One is popular in combination with R3 and other SAP products especially where you are looking for smaller scale application for small or midsize subsidiary of the nationwide group or even multinational corporation. If customer has active annual contract with SAP through reseller then there is no problem with getting new release registration key and update your system. However if you by whatever reason decided to stop paying for annual contract then there is the question of getting support. Old releases are no longer supported by SAP directly. Technical support and consulting should be received via consulting firms specializing in older versions and staffed with experienced consultants and programmers. Let’s take a look on how does it work:

1. Nationwide consulting partners. Small local firms might be oriented toward future software license sale and generic implementation. They might be reluctant helping somebody who is ‘frozen in history.’ Nationwide resellers are better positioned to run technical support call center and software development factory. Well good question would be ‘if they have consultant somewhere in Atlanta how does it travel every time to our office in Chicago?’ And the answer is ‘he doesn’t have to travel every time as he can work via web session and phone conference.’

2. Web Session or how does it work. Such technologies as Citrix Gotomeeting allow remote technician to connect to your computer and share such resources as keyboard and mouse. In this case there is the feeling that your consultant is sitting next to you in the office cubicle. Meeting ID could be issued immediately and sent to you via email or you can login directly through Gotomeeting website and given ID by phone. If you work in IT department you are likely familiar with Gotomeeting, WebEx and similar products. If you are AP, AR or GL accountant then we need to give you a feeling of what it is and this paragraph is rather for non-IT folks

3. If you are on legacy release then what are typical support requests? These are new user training, installing software on new computer, custom Crystal Report design, integration with external database or application, setting up new company database and restore from backup just to begin the list

4. If we are sort of orphan customer and we do not have assigned consultant or these people simply disappeared then what we got to do? Feel free to seek second opinion and approach another consulting organization. It is not really difficult to locate somebody over the internet searches on Google or Yahoo

5. If we would like to exercise upgrade option in the future then do we have one? It is better to think about it when you decide to do so as each software vendor is establishing and changing rules. It might be penalty or it might be software repurchase. Penalty might be the amount of unpaid annual support which is usually 17% of the pricelist per year. But who knows as there might be promotion campaigns

6. Our company was recently acquired by larger organization and now we are part of multinational group. Our headquarters is now thinking about deploying SAP B1 in our international locations. Is this a good idea or not? We understand that the whole international business world idea is probably unknown ground for you. But in fact SAP BO is localized in United States, Canada, Brazil, China and Russia just to open the long list of countries

We serve customers USA and Canada nationwide and internationally via web sessions and phone conferences (Skype is welcomed). We are working on Brazilian ERP consulting market in Sao Paulo since 2004
