Egypt trade union federations refuse the governmental draft for the trade union freedoms

Preparation of typical list for trade union work progress to presented to the military council.
Emphasize on Job seeker rights for join trade unions when they take job permissions.

Egypt trade union federation council announce the rejection of trade unions freedom law draft (which prepared by D/Ahmed Al-Boraay minister of manpower and immigration) in its mutual meeting with the heads of public trade unions. Where the trade unions leader emphasized that the draft aims to stirring chaos inside workplaces and this is interference in trade union organization affairs and seeks to fragment it’s unity and independency.

Trade union leaders decided at their meeting headed by Mr. /Ismail Fahmy acting head of the general federation to prepare a typical list for trade union work progress in the next phase, to study and take opinion by all trade union organizations for presentation and discussion at the general assembly of the union and to be approved.

Mr. / Ismail Fahmy refers to that’s the list compatible with international labor conventions texts and Constitutional Court judgment which ruled that the trade union organize labor and it’s trade union activities management stay away from administrative interference .
When the General Assembly approving the list , it will be sent to the Council of the Armed Force and that before agreeing to a timetable to hold labor elections during the next month of October and November .

Mr. Ismail Fahmy (Vice president of General union federation) said that the notes expressed by ILO to Egypt (which we have been answered to international standards committee) is the administrative intervention in the trade union action affairs, that’s the matter which we mean to modify our trade unions calends,we need to refer also that all this notes about the labor act application number 12 of 2003 which prepared by D. Ahmed Al-Boraay who chosen by ILO To oversee the drafting of the Labor Law .

Leadership unions emphasize on their rejection of the intervention in the trade union action affairs , and numbers of heads of general trade unions have decided to filed a lawsuit to detection of these interventions that described by its illegal . and they was agreed to send an urgent memo to the armed force for rejection some of Minister Of Manpower individual decisions without giving rights which the law passed to express opinion and consultation on issues which concerned with workers, and also they emphasize on job seekers rights in joint the general trade unions as one of the conditions for permissions to practicing the career, as the ministerial resolution number 181 executes the labor act stipulated.
Leadership unions decided in the meeting which lasted for 4 hours to send a report to Military council about the activities which practiced by some non-Egyptians representative of international organizations in Egypt , Which threatens the security and stability of the country .
Labor leaders decided to join the membership of International Trade Unions Federation and give chance to general trade unions that involved in international occupational federations to Withdraw and join the International Federation Which is based in the Greek capital Athens.

The participants in the meeting agreed on the Egyptian General Trade Union Federation convention with the Chinese General trade union federation which aims to support technical and trade union cooperation at the international levels.
