EIU Hosts Demonstration for First Scaled Down Wind Turbine

(Free-Press-Release.com) April 5, 2010 -- HARLESTON, IL-April 5, 2010- Lotus Creative Innovations of Compton, IL will demonstrate its wind turbine trainer in Eastern Illinois University’s Klehm Building at 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 9, 2010.

“We will be demonstrating our Wind Turbine Trainer to show how our product can be used to teach wind energy in renewable energy programs.” Said Ashish Gavali, Lotus Creative Innovations’ owner and engineer.

The Wind Turbine Trainer is specially designed for students. The trainer is the first scaled down version of a commercial wind turbine. It teaches basic electro-mechanical aspects of how a real wind turbine operates. The trainer features a see through gear box giving students a view of how a wind turbine functions, along with a wireless camera which allows unlimited smart room patch in capabilities.

“Attendees were very excited at the 2009 AWEA Conference while we demonstrated how students also learn by putting together the Wind Turbine Trainer.” States Ashish Gavali.

Eastern has been recognized for its green efforts being named twice University/College Partner of the Year in the Environmental Protection Agency Wastewise Program that focuses on recycling.
