With this new service, eKash's prepaid clients can now recharge credit to their own mobile phones by accessing a free eKash site and browsing through the options to choose the desired top-up amount. The operation is then charged on the client's wallet or credit card.

Previously, to top up credits, prepaid mobile phone clients had to go to stores and newsstands, buy a plastic scratch-off card and then dial a number to enter the code found on the card.
"This new solution makes life easier for our prepaid customers, who can now recharge credit without having to leave home or the office to buy cards," eKash said.

According to an executive, the technology implemented in this new process is called Pin Less Unstructured protocol used by GSM mobile phones to communicate with the service's provider terminal.

Ekash also noted that if they do not have a credit card, prepaid clients can turn to a friend or relative who is a postpaid client and charge them for the operation. In this case, the postpaid user will receive an SMS asking if the operation can be approved. If accepted, the top-up will then be charged on the postpaid user's next monthly bill.
The service is already available for all of eKash's eWallet clients.
