El Al Airlines - El Al launches budget Israel Flights to Europe

El Al Airlines made the announcement exclusively to travel agents that from today they will operate a new low-budget class, called E-class, on its Israel flights according to changing demand.

Israeli airline EL AL has announced they are launching a new budget rate for flights to Israel. The airline will be selling a total of 15,000 tickets for its new low-cost class to not only every European destination but also on limited routes to Thailand and India. The new low prices will not include food provision or baggage check.

El Al Airlines made the announcement exclusively to travel agents that from today they will operate a new low-budget class, called E-class, on its Israel flights according to changing demand.

Passengers flying in E-class will pay an extra charge for both in-flight food and for checking baggage. Tickets booked on E-class will not accrue frequent fliers points. Also in the announcement is travel agents will not receive commission for selling such tickets.

The company will allocate 15,000 seats to E-class for flights departing in November and December to all European destinations, as well as Thailand and India. Ticket prices will range from $250 for European cities close to Israel and up to $370 to destinations such as Amsterdam and Paris. Low cost return flights to Israel from London will be $399. Tickets to Mumbai and Thailand will be $699 for youths and $799 for adults. On Thailand and India flights, food service will be provided, but E-class passengers will not receive the same meal as the other passengers.

Passengers will be allowed to take a carry-on bag with them on the plane that weighs no more than 8kg (about 17 lbs).

Checked baggage will cost ELAL E-class passengers $20 per bag on each leg of their flight to European destinations, and $30 to the Far East. Passengers who want a seat assignment will be asked to pay $20 per direction and will be allowed to reserve a seat up to 38 hours prior to their flight.

The E-class passengers will be seated at the back of the aircraft and will receive free beverage service.
