Electronics Giant Philips quit Chinese TV business market

(Free-Press-Release.com) November 11, 2010 -- European Commission has permitted Philips sells their television business in China to China’s TPV Technology Group . Does this mean Philips will give up China TV business market ?
Philips is the one of the world's largest electronics companies, who has decided to sell the business such as the brand of TV and the market development in the Chinese market to TPV Technology Group of China. Under the agreement signed in September this year, TPV Technology Group will get the Philips TV brand licensing of the Chinese market.

The Philips’ decision has been approved of the European Commission on Nov.9. Because the European Commission said the transaction will not constitute a significant threat on the EU market . After the acquisition of the Philips TV brand, TPV Technology Group in the European market’s share is quite small and will face with strong competition.
Previously, Philips is also in North America, Mexico and India signed a similar TV market brand licensing. The professional people believe that this suggest that Philips gradually give up the global TV business.
Before this the TPV Technology had bought Philips’ computer monitors and the distribution business of the trademark, which period is less than two years.
