"Elique Group Inc and Walgreens Giveaway 6,000 Toys for Christmas"
New York, NY - December 24th 2011. Despite the chilling weather on Christmas Eve, the warm smiles on the children's faces heated up the atmosphere as they handpicked Christmas presents at the 4th annual "The Give Back Toy Drive Tour". Thanks to Elique Group Inc, Western Beef, and several participating Walgreens, five low income communities in Brooklyn, NY were treated to food, laughter and 6,000 toys in commemoration of the Holiday.
Jevante Qrashawn, owner of EGI created "The Give Back Toy Drive Tour" to distribute toys and positivity amongst communities in need, whilst touching hearts and shaping the imaginations of hundred's of children.
"I wanted to bring companies both big and small together so we can organize community events that will achieve constructive change consistently. Each toy we give out is tool that will spark imaginations and aid in our children's future social development" said Jevante.
Once the clock stroke 8 am on Christmas Eve, Jevante and his team of organizers began their 12 hour journey through the streets of Brooklyn in a 56-seater Charter bus and 17 ft U- Haul packed with toys. Navigating through the toughest neighborhoods in Brooklyn accompanied by police escorts, Santa's helpers visited MCU Park in Coney Island, Man Up Inc. in East New York and Brownsville Community Center, before ending the tour at Denim Lounge in Bedstuy. Parents were elated, regardless of the recession and financial hardships; their children would still have something to look forward to on Christmas morning. "I really appreciate this, and thanks for what you are doing for the community, it really means a lot" said one of the Brownsville parents. The children were even more enthused as this one young girl screamed "Yayyy this is exactly what I wanted!" Amongst many notable persons attending the drive was WRKS 98.7 KISS FM on-air personality Lenny Green of "Kissing After Dark" Lenny stopped by and was so amazed at the immense impact created by the drive that next year, he has plans of bringing 98.7 KISS FM onboard as supporting partner
As the largest Give Back Toy Dive Tour to date, raising over 6,000 toys not to mention hundreds more still being donated by Walgreens, organizers including Paerdegat Athletic Club, and Denim kids are happy to have been able to make a difference in communities where it seems most political leaders have turned the other cheek. More philanthropic events to look forward to in the upcoming year are the "Daddy Daughter Ball" and "Inner City Walk-a-Thon" Having been able to witness the power of generosity Innovative "iPOP" Popularity will also continue as a major supporter of EGI's future events and encourages every business, persons, politician, celebrities to come aboard, because together we can help communities located all over the 5 boroughs of NYC.
