Elvis Lives and Tina Turner Rocks as Scotty McCreedy and Pia Toscano Lead the Early Vote on American Idol Mobile.com on Rock N' Roll Week

Pia Toscano breaks out of the ballads with "River Deep, Mountain High" and Scotty McCreedy is mobbed by fans after performing the Elvis Classic "That's Alright"

Dallas/Fort Worth -- Free-Press-Release.com-- Apr 6, 2011 -- American Idol's "Rock N' Roll" Week finished tonight. This year's Idol just shows that the talent this year is endless.

James Durbin - Durbin promised to “slow it down” tonight and he did. His choice was The Beatles’ “While My Guitar Gently Weeps”. Durbin said he wanted to take chances and advance as an artist and a person. Lopez said it was nice to see another side of him, and Jackson said he liked Durbin’s emotional connection with the lyric. Tyler agreed, calling it “a proud moment”.

Casey Abrams - After running into problems with his original song choice (The Police’s “Every Little Thing She Does is Magic”), Casey Abrams settled on Creedence Clearwater Revival’s “Have You Ever Seen The Rain”. Jackson was impressed with Casey's use of upright bass. Tyler called Abrams a “true musician”, and Lopez also was impressed.

Scotty McCreery - Tonight Scotty was mobbed by female fans after his performance. It was no surprise that Scotty McCreery sang a song by Elvis Presley. Jackson said McCreery was “in it to win it” and was impressed by how much fun he had with the song. Tyler agreed, and Lopez said she felt a bit of hip-hop flavor in McCreery’s moves.

Pia Toscano -Ike and Tina Turner’s “River Deep, Mountain High” was the change of pace from Pia Toscano’s that Randy asked and departed from her usual ballads. While the performance still emphasized her vocal firepower, she had star-power. Tyler said she “killed it”, and Lopez praised her vocals while suggesting she do more research on the great performers of the past to improve even more.
