Email Marketing Expert Says Marketers Who Integrate Email Marketing With Emerging Digital Marketing

More than two-fifths (41 percent) of marketers foresee an increase in email marketing spending in 2010, according to a survey of 1,450 by Equation Research, placing the tactic as fourth among the digital marketing tools anticipated to see increased attention: social media, online advertising and search engine advertising. The 2009 Marketing Industry Trends Survey also found that, on average, these marketers use five to seven social media tools at the same time.

"It is telling that email marketing is among the digital marketing tactics most likely to see an increase in investment next year," said Kearney. "Email marketing is the best linchpin for any digital marketing campaign, as email remains, by far, the channel via which consumers are most likely to receive marketing messages first."
