Embest: Two New Atmel SAM9G45 based Single Board Computers

(Free-Press-Release.com) May 12, 2011 -- Shenzhen, China, May 12th, 2011 ─ Following the release of the Atmel SAM9G45 single board computer SBC6045 last year, Embest has introduced two new models SBC6245 and SBC6345 based on this ARM9 processor this month.

The two boards both employ the Mini6245 processor card as the CPU core board which has integrated the AT91SAM9G45 CPU, 128MB DDR2 SDRAM, 128MB Nand Flash, 1Kbit EEPROM, Ethernet controller on board and connects to the expansion board through two 1.27mm pitch 80-pin connectors.

The SBC6245 expansion board has brought out RS232, RS485, Ethernet, USB Host, LCD, Touch Screen, RTC while the SBC6345 expansion board has brought out RS232, RS485, Ethernet, USB Host, CAN, LVDS, Touch Screen, SD, Audio, RTC. Embest provides 5.6 inch LCD option for SBC6245 and 10.4 inch LCD option for SBC6345 . Embest has also designed reliable and nice metal cases for the two boards with LCD. The whole platform would be an ideal HMI device.

With provided Linux 2.6.30 and WinCE 6.0 BSP along with documents for the two boards, customer can create their own applications on the platform and use them directly for HMI applications.

About Atmel AT91SAM9G45 Processor

The AT91SAM9G45 embedded microprocessor is based on the integration of a 400MHz ARM926EJ-S processor with DDR2 and LPDDR support, a wide range of connectivity and user interface peripherals, as well as a dual external bus interface. The multi-layer bus architecture is associated with 35 DMA channels, 64KB of SRAM that can be configured as TCM, and dual bus interface that sustains the high bandwidth required by the processor and its high-speed peripherals. The SAM9G45 integrates multiple communication interfaces such as high-speed USB host and device with transceivers, 10/100 Mbps Ethernet controller and high-speed SDIO/MMC interface. It also comes with an LCD controller supporting up to 1280x860 resolution, a resistive touchscreen controller and a camera interface. The I/Os support 3.3V. The SAM9G45 is available in a BGA324 package with 0.8mm ball pitch. It is designed to provide a high performance processor solution with a high flexibility for general and multimedia oriented applications.
