Emerald Passport’s Downfall: Former Top Producer Explains Company’s Demise
Emerald Passport closes its doors. If you are one of the distributors left behind, here's what to do next...
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) November 18, 2009 --
It comes as a shock to many people but former
distributor Andrew Murray, who left Emerald Passport in
2007, is not surprised that Emerald Passport just
recently closed their doors for the last time.
Sitting down with him, he gives us his take on what he
believes is the reason for their downfall and offers
suggestions for what to do next, if you are one of the
many distributors struggling with your loss of income.
“It’s sad,” Andrew says, “if you look back, this was a
company that was the dominant Top Tier Opportunity in
2005, Liberty League aside. It was the company that
Marie and I first hit a multiple-six figure income
with.”
Currently, if you go to the website, Emerald Passport
is pointing to the “global economic downturn” as the
reason for its failure but Andrew emphatically states
that this is not the reason.
In fact, Andrew explains the “Master Distributor” of
Emerald Passport always explained that economic
downturns are great for home businesses. In fact, just
about every successful network marketer knows that.
In fact, Andrew’s own success with selling an even more
expensive top tier opportunity in this economic
downturn (all with a higher close ratio) proves this
theory true. It has been EASIER to sell. Not harder.
So what happened?
Here is what Mr. Murray wants people to consider. He
states that the EPI’s downfall had nothing to do with
an economic downturn, but rather with bad management.
His message to the distributors left in the dust, when
looking to find a new source of income need to put good
company management at the top of their wish list.
“The fact of the matter is Emerald Passport just
wrapped up a conference in Punta Cana, and it was clear
that they just couldn’t get people to the events. They
also chased away top producers and their core
leadership group – myself included”, states Andrew.
He goes on to explain how they implemented draconian
marketing policies that prohibited distributors from
marketing online and didn’t want him teaching internet
marketing. This included shutting down his team
training site, and to speak on the conferences calls
about how “it was easy, you just buy leads and take
them to the conference call.”
“I met over 1000 people at different events, and less
than a handful were successful using the company tools
and methods” This Andrew says is why people need to be
taught up to date information and need to be using
cutting edge strategies to stay competitive.
Andrew states, “Emerald Passport was slow to adapt to
the internet. By now, most people know that people
retain more info from video format, which is why
company webinars that are visual – they make more
sales than old-school audio teleconference lines.
But it was the decisions that were made at the top that
ultimately brought Emerald Passport down from great
heights.”
He concludes with, “The number one reason why companies
fail is poor management and in this case I
know it had nothing to do with the global downturn."
