(Free-Press-Release.com) February 4, 2010 --Emergo Group Inc., a global medical device consulting firm, has acquired Mediqol Ltd. based in Sheffield, England. Mediqol is UK’s largest privately owned medical device regulatory compliance consultancy. Both firms assist medical device manufacturers to obtain regulatory clearance to sell their products worldwide.

Over the past year, Emergo Group has expanded its European presence by opening an office in France in addition to its existing office in The Netherlands. With the Mediqol acquisition, Emergo Group now maintains three offices in Europe.

Emergo Group’s CEO, Rene van de Zande, notes: “The Mediqol consulting team is well respected in the UK with strong expertise in regulatory compliance for high risk medical devices. Their service approach providing assistance throughout the entire life-cycle of a medical device, from initial conception and product feasibility right through to clinical trials, regulatory approval and medical device post-market surveillance, is very appealing to the clients we serve.”

The acquisition is part of Emergo Group’s long term strategy of becoming a “one stop” resource for international regulatory compliance for medical device and IVD companies around the world. The consultancy has currently offices in the US, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, France, Netherlands, United Kingdom, Japan, China and Australia, and a presence in India, South Korea and Russia.
