Portland, OR (December 1, 2011) –The 4th Annual Northwest Conference Against Trafficking & Film Festival will be held January 9-15, 2012 in Portland, Oregon (the film festival is January 9-12th and conference January 13-15th). The conference is hosted by Soroptimist International Northwestern Region’s Northwest Coalition Against Trafficking (NWCAT).

http://www.nwcat.org The conference will offer 20 breakout sessions/trainings, networking receptions, over 50 presenters & keynote speakers, award luncheon, exhibit resource expo, film screenings, and silent auction. The Jane Velez-Mitchell Journalism Award will also be presented. Emceeing the weekend include two Emmy Award Winning Journalists and an Award-Winning Stage Singer and Actress! Kacey Montoya (L) is an anchor and investigative reporter for Koin Local 6 and Jane Velez-Mitchell (C), is host of “Issues” on HLN. Both women have given countless hours the past four years to the efforts of NWCAT and Soroptimist clubs including the annual Battle of the Badges and the annual NWCAT Conference. Joining them as emcee will also be Soroptimist Governor Sue Riney (R), a VP with Wells Fargo Bank and an award-winning stage singer and actress.
Speakers include: Oregon State Attorney General John Kroger, CNN HERO and founder of Friends of Maiti Nepal Anuradha Koirala, Kristen Anderson from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, Attorney and Policy Advocate Beth Klein, United States Senator Ron Wyden, International Investigative Reporter Amber Lyon and Michelle Sigona from “America’s Most Wanted” on Lifetime TV to name a few.
