EmploymentCrossing finds nearly 595,000 jobs in U.S. after a steady 9.1% jobless rate

Pasadena, California, United States of America (Free-Press-Release.com) October 13, 2011 -- Pasadena, CA, October 13, 2011 - According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics report, non-farm payroll edged up by 103,000 jobs in September, and the job loss rate stayed steady at 9.1 percent. The hires rate at 3.1 percent and separations rate at 3.0 percent, both, remained essentially unaffected over the month. The job openings rate has drifted up gradually since the end of the recession in June 2009.

Professional and business services added 48,000 jobs over the month and have grown by 897,000 since a recent low in September 2009. Employment in temporary help services edged up in September with adding 53,000 jobs over the past 3 months. In September, computer systems design and management and technical consulting services kept up with adding jobs. Health care employment continued to expand in September, with an increase of 44,000 out of which 26,000 jobs were gained in ambulatory health care services and 13,000 in hospitals. Construction added 26,000 over the month and information technology added 34,000 over the month

Manufacturing employment dropped down by 13,000 last month and has been essentially even for the past 2 months. Employment declined in electronic and appliance stores by 9,000 in September. Government sector continued to trend down with 34,000 jobs lost over the month. The U.S. Postal Service lost 5,000 jobs. Local government employment dropped down by 35,000 and has fallen by 535,000 since past two years.
