EMS technology helps College universitaire de Saint-Boniface provide state-of-the-art nursing education in Western Canada

(Free-Press-Release.com) January 25, 2011 -- Education Management Solutions (EMS) will provide College universitaire de Saint-Boniface of Manitoba, Canada with simulation management and skills evaluation software and video recording technology in the college’s new Health Sciences Pavilion. Saint Boniface, the French-language university in Manitoba, is the oldest post-secondary institution in Western Canada.

The state-of-the-art Health Sciences Pavilion will include a simulation center with three patient rooms, three professional skills/task training labs, two debriefing rooms, and new offices. According to Darcelle Vigier, Lab Coordinator, “The center will provide a safe environment in a modern educational and training facility where nursing students learn and refine their nursing skills through a broad range of real life scenarios.”

The Manitoba government declared the nursing shortage to be the most serious problem of the province’s health care system. Saint Boniface’s investment in the new Health Sciences Pavilion as well as in EMS’ innovative technology will accommodate the increasing enrollment of the College as well as the need for more highly trained nurses. EMS will provide a complete integrated simulation management solution, including an audio-visual system for recording training sessions that can help Saint Boniface’s students become better care providers.
