With Enerchange, non-profit organizations and businesses can harness the power of unique, alternative solutions to the energy crisis.
MINNESOTA, 2011 - Energy management is turning over a new leaf, thanks to the efforts of innovative non-profit organization Enerchange. The organization enables other non-profits and businesses to make use of best practices in energy consumption and implement them in their everyday workplace activities and routines, resulting in both environmentally-sound processes and expense-reduction. With Enerchange, energy management is not just an empty statement.
Anyone who doesn’t realize the burgeoning popularity - and necessity - of energy conservation may well be living in a cave. More and more companies and organizations, not to mention individual households, are looking for ways to augment their energy consumption. Alternative energy sources are becoming more mainstream, and energy conservation opportunities are becoming more accessible.
For many organizations, the need for energy conservation is even greater, with more stringent regulatory processes and cost issues. But the fact is, most organizations don’t know where to start with their energy management goals.
Enter Enerchange - a non-profit organization that exists to help other organizations save money by implementing best practices in energy conservation. Enerchange assists businesses in designing energy management strategies so they can, in turn, allocate their resources to other priorities.
Enerchange is composed of competent and professional service representatives, and makes use of Xcel Energy and CenterPoint Energy programs and initiatives, such as custom energy analysis, boiler efficiency and tune-ups, carbon monoxide controls, foodservice equipment, data center efficiency, electric rate savings peak control, infrared heaters, low flow showerheads and faucet aerators, energy efficient buildings, lighting efficiency, process and vending efficiency, and other solutions to help organizations maximize their resources in the best way possible, while reducing costs at the same time.
Such is the case of Huntington Place Apartments, a Minneapolis-area apartment building. Enerchange’s assessment included bill analysis, facility assessment, boiler and hot water system review - and the efforts resulted in thousands of dollars of savings annually. As Jim M., Director of Maintenance and Purchasing of Huntington Place Apartments points out, "All of our natural gas costs were hidden within one meter; the EnerChange Program identified ten easy-to-implement energy savings measures that drove immediate savings!"
The Enerchange process is simple: its representatives assess the energy consumption and usage of an organization and recommend clear actions and objectives for energy conservation. Enerchange’s task is clear: to educate, inform, provide and implement a working action plan, track one’s progress, and eventually - promote success.
