The Johannesburg International Motor Show has kicked off last Saturday (October 8, 2011) and there's a lot of things that show-goers can look forward to. Known as JHB Motor Show , the show is the single largest international automotive event in Southern Africa, showing the latest designed automobiles & motorcycles as well as some auto parts. So many kinds of cars make you do not know which is the best, here we pick 5 the best, we think, to let us enjoy them together.

Top 5 Types of Cars at Johannesburg International Motor Show 2011

At the JHB International Motor Show, there are many well known brands and a few manufacturers that recently achieved big milestones, such as Chevrolet celebrates its centenary, while, a little closer to home, Volkswagen marked 60 years in South Africa, and Toyota South Africa Motors is celebrating half a century on home soil. More importantly, they put out some latest designed cars and design concepts.

BMW will have its futuristic Connected Vision concept and its recently unveiled i8 electric supercar. If one is looking for something that is going to be in showrooms a little sooner then it will also have the mighty M5 fresh from the international launch that we attended in Spain last week. Mini will have its Paceman concept and the new Coupe with its helmet inspired roof design.

While, the Toyota continues to promise that excitement is just around the corner for the brand and it brought the FT-86 sports car to the show. SA has been starved of vehicles like the Celica and Supra for years now and we can only hope that the brand has planed to inject some sporty personality into its range. In a word, The Toyota brought the much praised new Yaris and its new budget beater in the form of the Etios.

What's more, the Chevrolet, Ford and Mazda are targeting the bakkie market with their respective new Utility, Ranger and BT-50 models which are set to go on sale soon. Ford will be bringing its latest Focus ST for those with a passion for hot hatches to drool over and its Kuga crossover will make its debut ahead of its launch next month .
