OKLAHOMA CITY (February 8, 2012) – It’s going to be Erik Dalton’s only appearance in 2012, andhe plans to make it count. During this one-day class at the American Massage Conference, Dalton and his team of teaching assistants will present tried-and-true techniques for restoring function to the neck, pecs, low back and lats, among other regions of the body.

“This workshop will be 70-percent hands-on, and it will change the way you work,” Dalton says. “In addition to learning my favorite techniques, students will be equipped with new methods for functional assessment, as well as an understanding of the very latest research on fascia.”

First, Dalton will share the most recent findings on fascia, fresh from the 2012 Fascia Research Congress in Vancouver. Then, attendees will be taught to perform his preferred routines for mobilizing the neck, stabilizing the shoulder girdle and releasing the ribcage.

A second section of the seminar will be devoted to performing functional assessments from the new Dynamic Body book. These assessments will show students how to track down the “weak links” that can lead to issues such as low back pain, sacroiliac and pelvic problems, hip capsule adhesions, O-A and A-A compensations, functional scoliosis, and rotator cuff impingement

“Manual therapists will leave this workshop with the skills to help identify and treat musculofascial length-strength imbalances,” Dalton says, “as well as an understanding of theory and research related to neck, ribcage, low back and hip pain.”
