Ida Byrd-Hill has been the president of Uplift, Inc. a 501 (c) 3 Incubator and teen advocacy firm where she has spent the last 9 years leading educational advocacy campaigns to bring awareness to problems and solutions to end Detroit’s educational crisis. One of her solutions was creation of Hustle & TECHknow Preparatory High School, a cyber school and winner of Automation Alley Educational Program of the Year 2007. When the world has told her to give up on the children of Detroit, she has continued to forge even bigger campaigns including the one she has begun, Escape to College.

College, once reserved for the affluent and elite, has become a necessity for every student who plans on surviving in America. The new creative based America needs thinkers that are groomed to their greatest potential in college.

Ida Byrd-Hill is on a mission to create the largest urban workforce revolution ever, by leading millions of young people out of the ‘Hood’ and into colleges across America.
