Ethiopia Awards Ogaden Gas Fields to Chinese Company

PetroTrans will pay $130 million as upfront payment and invest about $4 billion on the gas development project.

Also in the news was the help extended by Canadians for the starving millions in Ethiopia. Canadian agencies have come forward to donate more than $11 million for relief projects in the famine-hit Ethiopia, where the situation is said to be critical. An NGO, KIDMIA foundation, strives to create intensive awareness about the need for local adoptions in the country, especially as the number of orphans scaling to about 5.5 million in the country alone. KIDMIA held a workshop for religious leaders in the Ethiopian capital to raise its concerns about the rising Orphan Crisis in the country and seek an appropriate response on the issue.
