EU Domain Name Registration Only $5.59 on IX-SITE

(Free-Press-Release.com) October 6, 2009 -- EU domain nameis the country code top-level domain (ccTLD) for the European Union (EU). Launched 7 December 2005, the eu domain is available for organisations and citizens in EU member states. The TLD is administered by EURid, a consortium consisting of the national ccTLD registry operators of Belgium, Sweden, Italy and the Czech Republic. Trademark owners were able to submit registrations through a sunrise period, in an effort to prevent cybersquatting. Full registration started on 7 April 2006.

Register a EU domain name must be unique. .eu Domain names must meet with a number of technical requirements:

* minimum 2 characters among the letters "a to z", the numbers "0 to 9" and the hyphen ";
* maximum de 63 characters;
* must not begin or end with a hyphen;
* must not contain a hyphen " on the 3rd and 4th position.

EURid is committed to introducing iDN in the future, allowing registration of names containing other characters found in the official languages of the EU Domain Name.
