Evan Guthrie Law Firm Presents At First Dorchester Two Higher Learning Academy

Attorney Evan Guthrie of the Evan Guthrie Law Firm in Charleston, South Carolina spoke at the first installment of the Dorchester 2 Higher Learning Academy at Ashley Ridge High School on January 14th 2012. The Dorchester 2 Higher Learning Academy is designed to help prepare high school students from all high schools in the Dorchester County School District Two for the challenges the will face in going to college or starting in a career and teach leadership skills. The program is spread over five different Saturday sessions. Attorney Evan Guthrie’s presentation was entitled Getting Ready For College and Careers.

Mr. Guthrie spoke about all the important things that the high school students could do while they were still in high school to prepare them for their future in college and in a profession. Attorney Guthrie spoke to the students about some of the important aspects of picking a career and going to college and gave tips and advice on how to accomplish their goals. Mr. Guthrie gave insight in what skills they should focus on in college and what employers are looking for when the students enter the workforce. Mr. Guthrie talked about the most important aspects of following career dreams and not compromising on goals when obstacles are faced. There were almost one hundred students from Ashley Ridge, Fort Dorchester, and Summerville High Schools that listened to Attorney Guthrie’s presentation. Mr. Guthrie was happy to be able to participate in the program and is scheduled to return to help out with the second session.
