Attorney Guthrie touched on the basics of estate planning and how probate court works. Mr. Guthrie talked about how important it is to have a will or living trust coupled with a power of attorney.

Attorney Guthrie even explained how best to get started making an estate plan and how to get everything organized. Mr. Guthrie presentation took place in the South Carolina Room at the Summerville library lasted about an hour in duration. Attorney Guthrie answered questions after the end of the talk that ranged from the validity of an out of state power of attorney to how an adopted child would inherit under an intestate estate.
