Chicago, Illinois, United States of America (Free-Press-Release.com) January 23, 2012 -- A completely new concept has entered the art and hair realm; a true Gallery and Salon. Desdimi Gallery Salon is dedicated to promoting emerging artists but also functions as a boutique salon in order to maintain it's mission. Clients and customers will get more than the usual straight razor shave, bayalage or keratin straightener during their next visit. Instead of just extensions for hair, they will have the opportunity to extend their minds because the salon is inside a contemporary art gallery filled with eclectic and diverse art work.

“We plan to cater to every art form and fill the gallery with a rotating roster of emerging local talent,” says Desdimi’s owner, Danka. “I was looking for a way to combine my many influences under one roof.”

Desdimi will serve as a cultural hub, from monthly artist launch parties, Desdimi Art Slam art contest, ongoing specials and even two $2500 college scholarships. “The arts desperately need our help. If we can combine our energies with, say, even a Chicago university, there’s no telling what we can do. We're happy we have the support of a couple of prominent art schools in the city.”

The visionary behind this original concept is Danka. Originally from the former Yugoslavia, Danka earned a degree in Philosophy from DePaul University while studying and working with master stylists in the United States and Europe. According to Danka, her gallery and salon has taken special care to make the entire experience stimulating for its clientele. “We want to create an experience that will turn heads and SPREAD AWARENESS in more ways than one.”
