Irvine, California (January 5, 2011) The Tobacco Vapor Electronic Cigarette Association (TVECA) today announced that Ex-Winston Man, David Goerlitz, was named President of the Association. David has been honored by the World Health Organization, The American Cancer Society, The American Lung Association, and The American Heart Association on both the national and local levels. Over the past several years, he has told his story to over 5,000,000 young people and adults throughout North America, Taiwan, Japan, Australia, and, most recently, Sweden. “I am very proud to be heading this association as I believe that the electronic cigarette, which already is being used by over 500,000 Americans, is technology that will soon give millions of others a more logical option than the smoking of tobacco-which we know kills over 400,000 Americans annually” said David.

About the Electronic Cigarette

The electronic cigarette (e-cig) first came to the United States in early 2007. Developed in China, the e-cig is comprised of only a battery and five main ingredients (propylene glycol, glycerol, nicotine, water and flavoring) that work together to provide the user their desired nicotine mimicking the same hand to mouth ritual that cannot be mimicked by traditional nicotine replacement therapies (NRT’s) such as gums and lozenges that have up to a 92% failure rate.
