Excel Glue Answers a Do-It-Yourself Builders Question
Do It Yourself Builders Rely on Answers from Experts like Excel Glue That Stand Behind Their Claims!
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) January 13, 2012 --
I was recently on a Do It Yourself forum and came across a question pertaining to a glue bonding issue. I investigated the issue, got the answer to the question and am passing along the information for others.
The question was in reference to a Home Improvement project in which the person was building a walk in cellar using mahogany. The do-it-yourself builder was finishing all the components prior to assembly because he felt it would be impossible to stain and varnish all the small components properly after it is assembled. FYI...the finish was a semi gloss urethane.
The question he needed answered was about the best type of glue to use ? He had been told nothing will bond to the urethane except Construction adhesive. This worried him because he thought that would be way to messy.
Answer to Glue Question Referencing Urethane Bonds
I was able to find a Glue that would bond to this surface without the mess. Excel Glue who makes Polyurethane Adhesives said their product works on urethane to urethane bonds as long as you have some way to clamp the pieces together. The suggested clamp time on Excel Xpress is 45 minutes. The clamp time on Excel Structan or Excel One is 3-4 hrs and will give a better bond.
This Do-It-Yourself builder was smart to ask questions before moving forward. Excel Glue offered a free product sample so the builder could try their product on his materials before making his purchase. That assures me that Excel Glue stands behind their products. They have a great website that allows users to browse and buy their products through a secure checkout process. To see for yourself visit www.excelglue.com.
