“Exchange for Change” makes the bond stronger as Indian students visit Pakistan

A 16 month project “Exchange for change” ended on a high note, leaving the footprints of brotherhood by the Indian students who flocked to see Pakistan for a week.

Hauz Khas, Delhi, India, Republic of (Free-Press-Release.com) February 23, 2012 -- A 16 month project “Exchange for change” ended on a high note, leaving the footprints of brotherhood by the Indian students who flocked to see Pakistan for a week. An initiative by NGO- Routes 2 Roots & CAP (Citizens Archive of Pakistan) conceptualized this program to encourage brotherhood & peace between the two nations. Students from Pakistan visited India to put a step forward with their friendship and to take the friendship to the next level Students from India visited Pakistan recently.

The Students from India visited City School, ILM School & Grammar Girls School on 17th February to meet their friends with whom they were in constant touch during the program. The Students of City School welcomed their friends from India with open arms. They attended the assembly & as a token of love the delegates dedicated a song, Kolaveri Di for the students of Pakistan. Appreciating the love and respect by Indian Students, The City School started hooting & enjoying their performance. The very well acclaimed Pakistani Singer Shafqat Amant Ali took the privilege to welcome these students and sang his compositions to express his love for India. The Students were very excited throughout the visit and were delighted to meet their friends in Pakistan. Calling this friendship as “friendship without Border” certainly explains how deep their bond has become. They felt that the 2 nations shared the same culture & values, the only difference lies in the names.

A 16 month program between Students of India & Pakistan aimed to thrive the buds of friendship through the exchange of thoughts and culture. 16 Delegates from Sanskriti School, St. Paul’s, Shishuvan and Gandhi Memorial School discovered the rich culture of Pakistan on a five day tour The session was organized by Routes 2 Roots & CAP for the students of India to experience the life & culture in Pakistan. Apart from the Local market & Malls they were also taken to see the historical monuments like Lahore Fort, Badshahi Mosque, Gurudwara Dera Sahib that are an integral part in the history of Pakistan. During this session the students were also witnessed to the Asia’s biggest Pupperty Museum, Lahore Museum & the Hall of Fame.

Mr. Rakesh Gupta, Director, Routes 2 Roots said: “Student Exchange for Change program has tried to inculcate the values & culture of each other in both the countries. With this final step we have tried to strengthen the friendship that already exists in these students. We believe, with this project the two nations have gained confidence through dispelling stereotypes & have created a positive pressure for peace. Observing the environment through witnessing the historical monuments & religion has given a clear picture of values that we experience.”
