Excitement Builds For the 2nd Annual Stuff the Bus!

November 9, 2009

Excitement builds as the Camas-Washougal Business Alliance teams up with local schools to "Stuff the Bus" again this year.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) November 9, 2009 -- The Camas-Washougal Business Alliance will once again team up with local schools to "Stuff the Bus."

The event pits the Panthers against the Papermakers in a battle to collect the most food and toys for local families in need. In 2008, Stuff the Bus generated 48,940 pounds of food and toys.

In the coming weeks, members of the business alliance and Camas and Washougal high school students will visit local businesses requesting donations, and asking permission to hang flyers and to place collection barrels. Citizens are invited to make donations at participating businesses.

"Stuff the Bus is a wonderful opportunity for all of us to work together as one community for a single purpose that helps so many people," a press release from the CWBA said. "Our students are the key to the event's success. They are energetic and passionate; they work hard, have fun and get connected with something that is bigger than them."

On Dec. 4, the empty buses will be weighed at Exterior Wood Products in Washougal. Students decorate the buses and make their way to each school. The buses are then filled with the collected food and toys. Once filled, the buses will again be weighed. The total weight of the buses for each school will be divided by the actual number of enrolled students in each high school to determine the winner.

This year, the excitement is building as the schools race to collect enough food to beat last year's bounty. While it may be a challenge, the schools are certain that it is within their reach. Their passion for helping the community and those in need is amazing.

The schools are guided by the C-W Business Alliance who are a network of small business owners focused on building and maintaining positive relationships within the community, developing members' businesses and serving through business referrals and community involvement.
