Why do some people have a problem with anxiety and others do not?

My understanding of anxiety is that yes, some people seem more susceptible than others but that the key trigger tends to be exhaustion. By exhaustion I mean mental, physical, or emotional exhaustion. (Under physical exhaustion I also include things like diet or substance abuse)

If the anxiety is caused by a traumatic life event it is interesting to note that the person frequently does not experience the anxiety until the event has passed.

Once you are sure that it is anxiety that you dealing with, treat it.

Without treatment, anxiety can escalate into general anxiety disorder (GAD) and my eventually cause regular panic attacks.

What is General Anxiety Disorder?

Everyone has occasional bouts of anxiety, or anxious thought patterns. You probably have general anxiety disorder if you have recurring anxiety, as opposed to occasional worry.

To illustrate how anxiety can escalate into GAD, I’ll use the analogy of a water faucet. If the faucet is working properly when turned off, we experience a relaxed home environment – which equates to a relatively anxiety-free existence. This situation is how general anxiety disorder feels – it demands your attention.

Physical, mental or emotional exhaustion caused by stress

Steps you can take to eliminate General Anxiety Disorder
Once you know the causes of anxiety, you can work to reduce or eliminate anxiety entirely.There are many excellent holistic books and classes that help reduce or eliminate anxiety by teaching the principles of the mind-body-emotion connection, as well as anti-stress techniques.
