Extended household cover over the festive period

(Free-Press-Release.com) July 2, 2010 -- All Home & Legacy’s Home insurance policies provide an automatic increase in the contents and fine art (if included) sums insured, to help cover you for the increased values likely to be at risk over the festive period.

(The cover provided varies - it’s from 10% to 25%. Please refer to your policy wording under the Section headed Religious Festivals and Wedding Gifts for details of the limit applicable for your cover.)

Cover is provided for the entire month before as well as the month after Christmas and could represent hundreds of pounds of extra cover at no additional cost.
Remember, this is a peak period for break-ins as well as accidents so these are the areas to be most mindful of:

•    Check burglar and smoke alarms are in good working order and batteries have been replaced if necessary
•    Make sure that you have locked all doors and windows and set the burglar alarm whenever you go out leaving your home unattended

•    Don’t turn off all the lights when you leave the house - but do make sure that you have switched off your Christmas tree lights as they pose an increased fire risk. If you have any doubt about the safety of your tree lights, buy some new ones.
