2012, New Year must have brought numerous resolutions that one makes but hardly stick to, but so is not the case with Manvika Malhotra or Najm Nisa or Krishna Kumar, who have vowed to protect environment by making and sticking to green resolution on Facebook, organized by Nuclear Friends. Some of resolutions are as simple as “I will use both sides of a paper!” by Manvika Malhotra, “Well I pledge to board a bus to college rather than catch up an auto from now.on-wards…its economical and eco-friendly too:)( helps to reduce pollution)” –by Najm Nisa or “So I pleadge to switch off the unnessary lights and fan, not to use air conditioner and try to promote clean, green power.” by Krishna Kumar.
By the time one is through mid-January, most of these are broken or mended in a manner that sets the tone for rest of the year. While, the thought behind making this resolution counts, it is even more important to see them through, for best results. People make resolutions to improve the standard and quality of their life, but these resolutions usually revolve around their own lives.
To bring the bigger, better and healthier change to improve the quality of living on a mass level, everyone has to strive in their own way and with this bigger interest and goal in mind, Nuclear Friends Foundation, a non-profit organization, has taken an initiative of encouraging people to make a green resolution and the most doable resolution would get a gift voucher worth Rs 2000.
The campaign has received considerable response so far, considering that no commercial ads have been used to reach people. This non-profit organization has taken initiative of reaching out to people by organic methods and encouraging them to participate in taking a green resolution with a view of befriending environment and taking care of Mother Nature, which is the biggest provider for us in every possible manner.Nuclear Friends, through its Facebook campaigns has successfully encouraged users to take a pledge and stick to it for benefit of Nature.
The winner of the campaign would be the most doable resolution, idea is not get creative and promise stars and moons, instead stick to the basic and promise things that are doable and possible in keeping the ideal resolutions. It is true, that simple things bring bigger revolutions, with this initiative by Nuclear Friends Foundation; these small steps towards cleaner and greener environment are bound to show positive changes in the long run. The campaign is on and one can still contribute to this campaign by making a green resolution and sticking to it.
